Cue the sad horn sound for Larsa Pippen.
Michael Jordan, a sports icon, has expressed his disapproval of his son Marcus Jordan’s relationship with Larsa Pippen, causing shock and disappointment in the sports community.
Larsa claims that Jordan’s comments “traumatized” her, but Marcus later revealed that his father called him to clarify his statement.
“I didn’t think it was funny,” she said. “There’s nothing funny about it.”
“I was kind of embarrassed,” she added.
“It literally went everywhere,” Larsa said. “I think people started to think that online they were saying that I was lying — that I lied and said that our parents are fine because I was doing interviews and saying both of our families are fine.
“When I would say that, I felt like I didn’t embellish that… and I would say both of our parents want us to be happy… I do understand that it’s not awkward for us to be together because it’s us.
“But it probably is awkward for my ex [Scottie Pippen] and your dad because they have their own relationship or whatever it was. I wasn’t a part of that, you weren’t a part of that. So I feel like for them it probably is weird, it probably is weird for your dad. I can’t be mad. I understand… Oh my god, I was traumatized. I was like what are we going to do, people think I lied.”
In a video, Jordan was asked by a reporter if he approved of Marcus dating Larsa, to which he simply responded, “No.”
This contradicted Larsa’s previous claim that Michael had given his blessing.
However, Michael later told Marcus that he didn’t need his approval to date anyone, suggesting that his initial disapproval may have stemmed from his ongoing feud with Scottie Pippen, Larsa’s ex-husband.
Despite the public disapproval, Marcus and Larsa have been dating for over a year and show no signs of ending their relationship.
They even confirmed on their podcast, “Separation Anxiety,” that they are living together.
There is still some discussion about Marcus’ time split between Miami and Orlando, but they seem to be committed to their relationship.
