This week, the Superior Court of Los Angeles issued a judgment in favor of NBA player Christian Wood.
Wood was granted a permanent restraining order against his ex-girlfriend and the mother of his child, Yasmine Lopez.
Court documents, which were accessed by RadarOnline.com, revealed that Wood testified in a recent hearing. The Los Angeles Lakers player had previously obtained a temporary restraining order against Lopez in March, after alleging that she and a group of friends showed up at his Los Angeles residence on February 23, 2024. According to Wood, Lopez climbed his fence and accessed his Mercedes-Benz, subsequently vandalizing the vehicle by scratching it extensively. He also reported that she entered another vehicle and roamed around his property, leading a neighbor to alert the police about a potential intruder. The police responded and arrested Lopez.
Wood further detailed an incident involving the pickup of his son, Kobe, from the home of one of Lopez’s friends. He claimed the friend was hostile and refused to hand over his son, while also making false accusations against him to the media.

The court documents noted that this wasn’t the first instance of Lopez damaging Wood’s property, citing a break-in at his home in August 2023 during which she destroyed various items. Wood requested primary physical custody of their son but was willing to share joint legal custody.
Following the initial temporary restraining order, Lopez was required to maintain a distance of at least 100 yards from Wood until further proceedings. Despite being notified, Lopez did not attend the hearing.
The court noted, “The responding party was given notice and an opportunity to be heard, as provided by the laws of the State of California. There are no calls, check-ins, or appearances by or on behalf of the Respondent.”
Accompanied by his legal team, Wood presented evidence supporting his claims in court. With Lopez not contesting the petition, the court approved Wood’s request for a permanent restraining order and awarded him sole custody of Kobe. The restraining order is set to remain in effect until April 30, 2027.
