Is Kyrie making a power move?
The potential departure of James Harden from Philadelphia could have ripple effects in Dallas.
According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, Kyrie Irving may try to gauge the interest of the 76ers in signing him. Windhorst believes Irving could do this to potentially pressure Dallas into making a move.
“Is it possible that Kyrie could investigate what’s gonna happen with Philadelphia, if they move on from Harden? Yes. I expect him to try to see if he can get Philly interested, if for no other reason, to force Dallas’ hand,” Windhorst said Friday on Get Up.

Irving is set to become a free agent and is expected to meet with the Mavericks and Phoenix Suns, as well as the Houston Rockets. However, it seems unlikely that Phoenix would be able to facilitate a sign-and-trade with Dallas due to financial constraints. On the other hand, the Sixers could be a more feasible option as they explore trading Harden.
While it may be unlikely that Dallas would accept a sign-and-trade involving Irving and Harden, a workable deal could potentially be found if a third team got involved. The Los Angeles Clippers and New York Knicks have also shown interest in Harden.
Overall, it is highly unlikely that Irving will leave Dallas, as they can offer him the most money and have a strong motivation to do so.
The team will have the offseason to build a roster that complements the duo of Irving and Doncic while they work on improving their chemistry.
