Kylie Kelce is stepping back into a passion of her own just as her husband, NFL legend Jason Kelce, embarks on a new chapter in his career as a broadcaster.
Kylie who has been married to Jason since 2018, is returning to her roots in field hockey, a sport she has loved and excelled in for years. The mother of three is set to resume her role as the varsity field hockey coach at Lower Merion High School in Philadelphia, a position she’s held with dedication and pride.
In an interview with People, Kylie emphasized the unique role high school coaches play, especially in public schools, where the range of athletes varies widely. “I think one of the most important things in being specifically a high school coach and a public high school coach is that we get a wide range of athletes,” she explained. “Some people will decide to go on to play Division I. Other people won’t play past their senior year—they’re really there to just enjoy the sport and enjoy time with their friends. In our situation, all are welcome.”

This upcoming season will mark Kylie’s eighth consecutive year coaching the Lower Merion Aces, a program she has nurtured with the same passion she displayed as a player at Cabrini University, where she competed at the Division III level. Her coaching philosophy centers on the idea that team sports do more than just develop athletic skills—they help shape well-rounded individuals.
“I think team sports help mold people to be able to work together,” Kylie noted. “Even for the people who don’t choose to play after high school, they still get to take that away. We want them to be more confident when they leave. We want them to be able to work with a team, whether that’s athletically or in a workplace or in a classroom.”
Kylie, who juggles her coaching responsibilities with raising her three young daughters—Wyatt, 4, Ellie, 3, and Bennett, 18 months—believes in the lasting impact that sports teams can have on young people. “Sports teams become your family,” she said. “You don’t have to like them, but you do have to love and respect them. And those are all things that I think moving forward in life are really important. They make you a better, more well-rounded person and more prepared for the world after high school.”
As Kylie dives back into her coaching career, Jason is gearing up for his debut in the broadcasting world. After announcing his retirement from the NFL in March, following an illustrious 13-year career with the Philadelphia Eagles, Jason is set to join ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown as a cohost. It’s a role that Kylie believes is a natural fit for her husband.
“I am mostly excited to see Jason excel in a new position,” Kylie shared about Jason’s new venture. “I jokingly say it’s a pain in the butt that he’s good at everything, and I know I’m biased in that, but I truly believe he’s good at everything because even if he’s not good at the start or the best at the start, he will work endlessly and tirelessly until he can achieve that.”
As both Kylies return to coaching and Jason transition into broadcasting, the Kelce household is embracing a new season of change, driven by their shared dedication to excellence and their passion for inspiring others.
