While the San Francisco 49ers celebrated a 42-19 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, an unfortunate incident involving players and a security guard marred the game.
Tensions escalated between 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw and Eagles Senior Advisor to the General Manager/Chief Security Officer, Dom DiSandro.

In the third quarter, DiSandro was ejected from the game along with Greenlaw after they made contact. The Eagles’ chief of security placed his hand on Greenlaw and gave him a slight push, prompting Greenlaw to poke DiSandro in the face.
Coach Shanahan expressed his visible displeasure after Greenlaw’s ejection and had strong words about Big Dom post-game.
“Oh, yeah. That’s why I tried my hardest not to lose my mind,” Shanahan said. “Hopefully, I didn’t embarrass myself too bad. I didn’t get to see it all from where I’m at, but when I start hearing people explain it to me and stuff and I just can’t believe someone not involved in a football game can taunt our players like that and put their hands in our guy’s face. And from what I was told, Dre did it back to him, and I was told that he kind of mashed him in the face a little bit, so he got ejected.”
Shanahan continued, emphasizing his disbelief that someone unrelated to the game could taunt players in such a manner.
The altercation ignited the crowd and the Eagles, who subsequently scored a touchdown, narrowing the deficit to 21-13. However, the 49ers responded by outscoring the Eagles 21-6, securing a decisive victory.
Big Dom seemingly overlooked that his security duties don’t extend to breaking up on-field fights, risking potential repercussions for his actions. DiSandro, in his 25th year with the Eagles, faces an uncertain future, with the league possibly intervening and imposing sanctions.
