This Christmas brought challenges for Patrick Mahomes, evident in the two-time Super Bowl champion’s costly pick-six during the Chiefs’ loss to the Raiders.
Despite some commendable throws late in the game, Mahomes’ overall performance left much to be desired, leading Hall of Fame quarterback Kurt Warner to label Monday’s game as possibly the worst in Mahomes’ era.

“Watched #Chiefs O & could have been the worst overall game by this O in Mahomes era [sic],” Warner commented on X. “1st credit #RaidersD who out-coached & outplayed KC, 2nd KC was bad everywhere PM2 missed reads & throws, concepts were confusing, got manhandled upfront, etc… it’s getting late ppl!!”
During the postgame press conference, Mahomes acknowledged the challenges the Chiefs have faced this season but emphasized the need to clean up their performance in the remaining two games before the playoffs.
“We’ve got to clean it up,” Mahomes stated. “We’ve got two games left. We have to do it, and if we don’t, we’ll be going home. So, if we clean it up, we can beat anybody, but we have to prove we can do it.”
Facing the Bengals this Sunday at home, the Chiefs have an opportunity to rebound. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:25 p.m. ET. Known for his resilience, Mahomes remains vigilant against any criticism that may tarnish his reputation.
