Kristin Cavallari opened up about her weight loss during the filming of Very Cavallari, which coincided with the end of her marriage to Jay Cutler.
On an episode of her podcast, “Let’s Be Honest With Kristin Cavallari,” she discussed how the stress of that period affected her physically.
“I was very thin,” Cavallari revealed. “To give you an idea, I’m 5’3 and currently weigh 114 pounds. Back when I was filming Very Cavallari, I was down to 102, even though I was eating the same amount of food as I am now.”
Cavallari attributed her significant weight loss to the high levels of stress and unhappiness she experienced during that time. “Looking back at photos from then, I can see just how unhealthy I looked — really thin, just skin and bones,” she recalled.
Very Cavallari debuted in 2018, providing a peek into Cavallari’s life in Nashville as she launched her Uncommon James flagship store and navigated her life with then-husband Cutler.
However, the show ended after three seasons following their split in April 2020. In a joint statement, Cavallari and Cutler expressed mutual respect and gratitude for their time together but acknowledged that they had grown apart.
In a later interview with Kelly Clarkson, Cavallari explained her decision to step away from filming. “It was a hard decision but the right one. I felt a sense of relief once I decided,” she stated, emphasizing her desire to maintain privacy, especially concerning her divorce, and to protect her three children from experiencing those events on camera.
Cavallari expressed contentment with her life post-show, focusing on personal growth, her children, and her business, Uncommon James. “I’ve been enjoying the slower pace and focusing on what really matters,” she told Us Weekly.
Despite stepping back from reality TV, Cavallari continues to share aspects of her life publicly, including her new relationship with Montana Boyz member Mark Estes, which they confirmed on social media after Cavallari initiated contact. Estes described the relationship as “very serious.”
