Kobe Bryant remains an iconic figure in Los Angeles and a devoted Dodgers fan, with his legacy deeply ingrained at Chavez Ravine.
Whether it’s the countless photographs of him watching the 2018 World Series from behind home plate, players like Kiké Hernandez donning No. 8 in his honor, or Mookie Betts reflecting on the valuable lessons learned from him, Bryant’s presence still lingers in the hearts and minds of many.
This Friday, during the Dodgers’ annual “Lakers Night” at the stadium, Kobe Bryant will once again be celebrated, with his family in attendance.
Natalia Bryant, the 20-year-old daughter of the late Lakers legend, will have the honor of throwing the ceremonial first pitch before the Dodgers take on the MLB-leading Atlanta Braves.

Natalia herself confirmed this special announcement with a post, and the event coincides with what would have been Kobe’s 45th birthday on August 23rd.
Each year, as part of the Dodgers’ promotional themed nights at Dodger Stadium, the team pays tribute to the Lakers. Typically, the festivities include appearances by the Laker Girls and a Lakers player throwing the ceremonial first pitch. Fans who purchase a special ticket package for the night receive a Dodgers/Lakers-themed hat or jersey, adding to the celebration of these two beloved Los Angeles sports franchises.
