Zach Wilson is the current quarterback for the Jets, and there’s no doubt about it.
ESPN appears to be making persistent efforts to keep either Kirk Cousins or the New York Jets in the spotlight, as the network’s analysts continue their attempts to link the two.
On the latest episode of Get Up, NFL analyst Marcus Spears proposed the notion that the Minnesota Vikings trading their quarterback to the Jets is a “possibility that you would absolutely think about.”
We’ve certainly heard this proposal many times before, so frequently, in fact, that fans in the comments have grown weary of it.
For weeks now, fans have been scrutinizing the idea of a Cousins-Jets trade, given the extended period during which the media has been advocating for such a move. There are even talking points being raised to challenge the feasibility of this trade.
For instance, one user humorously remarked, “Oh yeah, that would be a great fit because Kirk Cousins has always thrived in high-pressure, expectation-filled situations, especially with those multiple prime-time games coming up on their schedule lol.”

Another user highlighted key points, stating, “A few things here. Kirk is a smart businessman. 1. He has a no-trade clause, so he can control his narrative. 2. He wouldn’t go to the Jets without securing his future years in a deal; he’s not just going for 6 months and then leaving, that’s not who he is. So, there is no substance to this idea.”
A third user simply expressed their view, “Quite the take – That everyone is already saying.”
It seems that it might be time for ESPN to retire this narrative. The notion of Cousins joining the Jets is unlikely to materialize anytime soon.
