Following the Super Bowl victory celebrations with the Kansas City Chiefs, Jason Kelce appeared to be having a great time. However, a young fan from Kansas City claims that Kelce inadvertently ended up with his cherished luchador mask during the festivities.
While the Philadelphia Eagles didn’t make it to Super Bowl LVIII, Kelce enthusiastically embraced the Chiefs’ colors, donning red and yellow suspenders as he cheered for his brother Travis in Las Vegas alongside his wife.
Kelce joined the Chiefs for the postgame celebrations, where he somehow acquired the luchador mask that had been prominently featured in the celebratory footage.
In a recent episode of the New Heights podcast, Kelce shared that he stumbled upon the mask on the club floor, attributing the discovery to igniting his party spirit. However, this narrative has been challenged by a Chiefs fan named Elijah Smith, an eighth-grade student from Dallas.

According to NBCDFW, Smith recounted encountering Kelce at a post-game gathering and allowing him to wear the mask, which Smith considers a lucky charm he’s worn to four Super Bowls and had signed by Chiefs cornerback Trent McDuffie last year in Arizona. Smith claims he handed the mask to Kelce for a photo, but Kelce kept it on for several minutes before disappearing into the crowd. Despite attempts to retrieve it, Smith and his friend were unable to reclaim the mask due to the dense crowd.
“I gave him my mask and then he dropped it and then picked it back up. Then I got a picture with him wearing it and then I just hung out next to them for five to ten minutes, they were dancing and everything,” Smith said.
Smith says he and his friend tried to run after Jason but it was extremely crowded and loud.
“I saw videos on Instagram this week of him wearing it at the next after-party he went to, so he clearly never took it off the whole night,” Smith said.
Now, Smith and his parents, Thad and Sarah, are hoping to get it back, as a good luck charm for next season.
Smith hopes to retrieve his lucky mask before the next season begins, but its whereabouts remain unknown. Nevertheless, there’s optimism that Kelce will endeavor to rectify the situation and return the cherished item to its rightful owner.
