In a heartfelt post on X/Twitter, guard Keisei Tominaga bid farewell to Nebraska fans after wrapping up his memorable career with the Cornhuskers.
“Thank you Husker nation. There is no place like Nebraska #GBR,” Tominaga expressed, showcasing his gratitude.
Arriving at Nebraska after two successful seasons at Ranger College in Texas, Tominaga quickly endeared himself to fans with his sharpshooting prowess. In his first season with the Cornhuskers, he primarily served as a valuable asset off the bench, contributing 5.7 points per game.
However, it was in the following season that Tominaga truly flourished, earning the moniker of the “Japanese Steph Curry.” Averaging an impressive 13.1 points per game, he showcased remarkable accuracy, shooting 50.3% from the field and 40% from beyond the arc.
Even as a fifth-year senior, Tominaga continued to impress, maintaining a scoring average of 15.1 points per game. His efforts helped propel Nebraska to a historic season, securing 23 victories—the second-highest in school history—and securing their eighth NCAA Tournament appearance.
Despite a heartbreaking loss to Texas A&M in the tournament’s first round, Tominaga’s performance remained exemplary. In that final game, he poured in 21 points in just 30 minutes of play, sinking 5-of-11 three-pointers, further solidifying his legacy as a standout player for the Cornhuskers.
