Kay Adams, though not a Wisconsin native, has become an outspoken supporter of Green Bay, demonstrating a level of enthusiasm that rivals even the most dedicated Cincinnati Bengals fans.
The Green Bay Packers’ 2024 NFL season opener has stirred controversy among fans, as it will not be held at Lambeau Field but rather in São Paulo, Brazil, where they are slated to face the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1. This marks the NFL’s debut game in Brazil, a decision that has left Packers fans disappointed over the loss of a home game.
The Eagles were previously announced as one of the teams heading to Brazil, with the Packers and Cleveland Browns in contention for the other slot. On the Up & Adams Show, while discussing the upcoming game, Adams inquired of Eric Wielochowski, the segment producer, whether the match was considered a home or away game for the Packers. He confirmed it was classified as a home game but noted he wasn’t bothered by the location change, unlike many fans.
The conversation took a light-hearted turn when Wielochowski commented on the lack of attractions in Green Bay compared to Brazil, prompting Adams to humorously defend Green Bay by mentioning local spots like Piggly Wiggly and a strip club named the Oval Office, before steering the discussion back to football matters.

Adams has openly discussed her shift in football allegiances, moving from being a Chicago Bears fan to supporting the Cincinnati Bengals, captivated by the dynamic duo of Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase. She shared on the ManningCast that her change of heart was due to seeking excitement and new beginnings, much like her reaction to the Packers’ unique season opener situation.
“You know, Chicago fans are not happy with me,” Adams stated, via Cincinnati.com. “But, you know, Eli used a relationship metaphor earlier in the broadcast, and it’s been the same old story since before I was born in Chicago. Things got a little stale, I was looking for a warm embrace and I fell into the arms of a beautiful new love before the 2021 season. With Burrow and Chase, I didn’t really understand why everyone wasn’t hopping on board what was going on there. And then it was a ride to the Super Bowl, which they’re trying to get back to and win. Maybe with this guy (Jake Browning), the most improved quarterback I’ve ever seen through seven days.”
As the Bears head into a new era potentially with draft pick Caleb Williams, the question remains whether Adams will continue her support for the Bengals or revisit her roots with the Chicago Bears. Regardless, her passionate take on football, combined with her spirited defense of Green Bay, continues to resonate with fans across the NFL spectrum.
