A man from Kansas City, Missouri, is now confronting a felony charge for allegedly pilfering over $46,000 worth of equipment from the Miami Dolphins back in January.
According to Brian Dulle of WDAF-TV, police were briefed by a Dolphins representative on January 14, a day following Miami’s wild-card round defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs. The representative informed them that a box truck transporting team gear and equipment had been broken into, resulting in the disappearance of various items.
Among the stolen items, as per court documents cited by Dulle, were football pads, gloves, shoes, game film, and other miscellaneous gear.

Court documents say the items stolen included miscellaneous media equipment, five Pelican cases with media equipment, four large aqua blue colored equipment cases, three large equipment cases, football pads, gloves, shoes, cold weather gear, hockey bags with large “cape” coats inside and game film.
The items were valued at $46,376.
Using surveillance footage, detectives managed to pinpoint the suspect’s vehicle, and subsequently located a car containing equipment boxes matching the description provided by the Dolphins.
On Wednesday, Joseph Brown Sr. was charged with a class C felony for theft. He is currently being held on a $50,000 cash bond.
