A judge has ordered Xaviar Babudar, also known as “Chiefsaholic,” to pay $10.8 million to Payton Garcia, an Oklahoma bank teller he held at gunpoint in 2022. The ruling includes $3.6 million for physical harm and emotional distress and $7.2 million in punitive damages.
Babudar pleaded guilty to charges related to 11 bank robberies totaling over $800,000 across multiple states in February. Currently in federal prison awaiting sentencing in July, he is required to pay at least $532,675 in restitution to the banks he robbed as part of his plea deal.
Although obtaining the millions ordered by the judge may prove challenging, Garcia’s attorney, Frank Frasier, emphasized that Babudar is prohibited from profiting from his crimes. Any proceeds, such as from a book or movie deal, would go to his creditors.

Garcia expressed satisfaction with the ruling, noting its message against profiting from crime. Babudar, a well-known figure at Chiefs games and on social media, fled while awaiting trial after winning $100,000 in Super Bowl bets in 2023. He was apprehended by federal authorities in Sacramento last July after four months on the run.
The incident in December 2022, where Babudar pointed a pistol at Garcia and threatened her, led to her quitting her job and significantly impacting her life, according to Frasier.
