Two Kansas City Chiefs offensive lineman were arrested and charged with marijuana possession in Kansas.
“Two Kansas City Chiefs offensive linemen were arrested Thursday night in Johnson County on charges of drug possession.
Wanya Morris, 23, and Chukwuebuka Godrick, 23, were taken into custody for marijuana possession, a misdemeanor in Kansas.
Both players were booked into the Johnson County Detention Center and released after posting a $2,500 bond each. The pair was released from custody on Friday afternoon.
Wanya Morris was drafted by the Chiefs in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft out of Oklahoma.
He has played a significant role for the team, appearing in 14 games and starting four games at left tackle in the absence of Donovan Smith.
Morris has been viewed as a promising addition to the Chiefs’ offensive line, showing potential and versatility in his rookie season.
Chukwuebuka Godrick joined the Chiefs as a designated International Pathway Player in 2023.
His journey to the NFL has been unique, reflecting the league’s efforts to provide opportunities to international athletes.”

Now the Chiefs have released a statement on the arrests.

It remains to be seen if either player faces any discipline for the arrests.
