Chiefs linebacker Nick Bolton received the sole fine for an on-field safety-related violation during Super Bowl LVIII.
Bolton was penalized for a horse-collar tackle on 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy in the second quarter of the game. The NFL confirmed that Bolton was fined $8,238 for the penalty.

Although Bolton’s horse-collar tackle was relatively minor, with only a brief grab of Purdy’s jersey before letting go, the officials deemed it worthy of a flag. Subsequently, the league’s disciplinary office also deemed it deserving of a fine.
While Kansas City’s L’Jarius Sneed received a flag for unnecessary roughness, no fines were issued to him or any other player besides Bolton for infractions during the Super Bowl.
