Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid will be heading into the 2024 NFL season with the Chiefs without one of his “all-time favorite guys.”
The Chiefs traded star cornerback L’Jarius Sneed to the Tennessee Titans last week.
Considered one of the NFL’s top cornerbacks, the 28-year-old Sneed had played with the Chiefs since 2020 and had won two Super Bowls with the team.

Reid of course fully understands the business side of football and that trading Sneed was necessary due to salary cap-related reasons, but it still hurts Reid to see a player and person of Sneed’s caliber head to an AFC rival.
“[He is] one of my all-time favorite guys,’ Reid told NFL writer Paul Kuharsky of Sneed. “Great human being. As great a player as he is, he’s an even better human being. As tough as you can imagine. I’m his biggest fan.”
“He was our lockdown guy. Every best receiver, he had the best receiver.”
During his tenure with the Chiefs, Sneed showcased his prowess in 57 games, amassing a total of 303 tackles, 6.5 sacks, and 10 interceptions.
Particularly notable were his contributions to Kansas City’s back-to-back Super Bowl championships. In the 2022 season, Sneed had 75 solo tackles, 33 assisted tackles, and three interceptions.
In the next season, he maintained his impact with 60 solo tackles, 18 assisted tackles, and two interceptions.
Now, Sneed is set to bring his talents to the Titans as they strive to secure their first playoff berth since 2021. Tennessee, having concluded the previous season in fourth place in the AFC South with a 6-11 record, aims to bolster their secondary with Sneed’s arrival.
