Professional golfer Justin Thomas praised fellow athlete Jordan Spieth’s performance as the best man at his wedding. Speaking on GOLF’s Subpar podcast, Thomas gave Spieth an A+ for his role, emphasizing that he didn’t lose the rings, a playful reference to Spieth’s meticulous nature.
Thomas, a two-time PGA Championship winner, commended Spieth’s speech, noting that it included humor without throwing him under the bus.
Spieth reportedly began the speech with a quote from the movie Wedding Crashers, and although Thomas couldn’t recall the exact line, he found it amusing.
Thomas acknowledged Spieth’s ability to balance humor with sincerity, giving him high marks for his performance.
“I hate to do this but man he crushed it,” Thomas said. “I’ll give him an A+. He didn’t lose the rings. You know Jordan, that’s always on the table.”
“…and I’ve always known that to be true for Justin and I.” Thomas says. “It was funny. But I got to give him an A+, he did well.”
Thomas married Jillian Wisniewski in November 2022 after a five-year relationship. He had proposed in November 2021, and the couple opted for a phone-free wedding to encourage guests to be fully present in the moment.
Throughout their relationship, Thomas has shared glimpses of his life with Wisniewski on social media, and she has been a supportive presence at his golf tournaments. Despite his high-profile career, Thomas values creating meaningful moments without the constant presence of phones and cameras, prioritizing genuine experiences over capturing everything digitally.
