The 27-year-old was drafted in the second round of the 2017 draft out of USC by the Pittsburgh Steelers and spent the first five years of his career in Pittsburgh.
Since his Pro Bowl season in 2018, Smith-Schuster’s career has been a major disappointment as he has not recorded a 1,000-yard receiving season since.
His first season with the Patriots in 2023 was non-descript to say the least as he had only 260 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown on 29 receptions over 11 games.
