While LeBron James has earned championships with three different teams, it’s one of those teams that might be affecting his GOAT (Greatest of All Time) status.
During a reflection on his time with the Miami Heat, NBA star LeBron James made an intriguing comment.
“I think I would still be at this level no matter if I would’ve came here or not,” James said. “Let’s not get it twisted: The four years I was here, it was amazing. I loved everything about it. Loved this franchise, this franchise is top tier, it’s one of the best franchises in the world.”

However, FS1 personality Joy Taylor holds a differing opinion, as she discussed on “Speak” this Tuesday.
“If you’re talking about championships, which I can’t just remove those when I evaluate LeBron James, we’re not having comparisons of him and Michael Jordan if he doesn’t have these championships,” Taylor said. “Would he be a great all-time player? Of course, because he was that before he came to Miami. But would he be in the all-time discussion and argued as the best player in the history of the game without these championships? I don’t think he would.”
While removing two championships from James’ illustrious career would undoubtedly diminish his achievements, it’s worth considering that he might have secured titles elsewhere during the 2010-2014 period.
Ultimately, James’ decision to take his talents to South Beach was the right one, and he will undoubtedly be remembered as one of the greatest basketball players to ever grace the court. However, in the eyes of most, Michael Jordan still retains the title of the actual GOAT.
