How much longer will Josh McDaniels remain as the Head Coach of the Las Vegas Raiders?
The Raiders improved to a 2-3 record after a crucial 17-13 victory over the Packers on Monday night, providing much-needed relief following three consecutive losses after their opening week triumph over the Broncos.
Nonetheless, Coach Josh McDaniels may still be on shaky ground, as per insights from The Athletic’s Dianna Russini. There have been murmurs circulating within the NFL that Josh McDaniels’ job could be in jeopardy if the Las Vegas team fails to start winning consistently.
Russini reported Saturday that “there have been whispers around the league that Josh McDaniels could be in trouble if Las Vegas doesn’t start winning.”
During that troublesome three-game losing streak, McDaniels made several questionable decisions, none more glaring than opting for a field goal from the red zone on fourth down against the Steelers when a touchdown was urgently needed toward the end of the game.

McDaniels inked a four-year contract worth $10 million per season last year but has failed to deliver the expected results. He inherited a team that had made the playoffs under an interim head coach the previous year and currently holds a record of only 8 wins and 14 losses.
The possibility of the Raiders making a mid-season move to part ways with McDaniels seems remote, but it is generating conversation within league circles.
Raiders fans are likely hoping for a change sooner rather than later, especially if the team’s performance doesn’t significantly improve.
