The Buffalo Bills made headlines on Wednesday by officially parting ways with veteran wide receiver Stefon Diggs.
The four-time Pro Bowler was traded to the Houston Texans, along with two late-round picks, in exchange for a second-round selection in the 2025 draft.
Since the blockbuster trade, discussions about Diggs’ tenure with the Bills have been circulating widely. Adding fuel to the conversation, The Athletic’s Tim Graham shared an intriguing story on Friday that sheds light on the dynamics between Diggs and Bills quarterback Josh Allen.
Graham revealed that following Buffalo’s Week 1 loss to the New York Jets, Allen had a heated exchange with Diggs. “But Josh Allen snapped at him,” Graham recounted. “And he said, ‘It’s one f—–g game.’ And kinda just motioned, like, I’m not talking to you here. And Diggs walked away and Josh was sat there.”
Speculation about Diggs’ dissatisfaction in Buffalo first surfaced in January 2023 after the Bills’ Divisional Round loss to the Bengals, where Allen and Diggs were seen engaging in a heated argument during the game. Furthermore, Diggs’ unexplained absence from Buffalo’s mandatory minicamp in June fueled further speculation about his relationship with the team.
Although Diggs eventually returned, questions about his future with the Bills lingered throughout the season.
Now with the Houston Texans, Diggs will be looking to bounce back in the 2024 season and make a significant impact for his new team.
