Josh Allen is among the athletes and celebrities who have gathered in Lake Tahoe this week for the annual American Century Championship golf tournament.
CBS Sacramento’s Jake Gadon caught up with Allen as he was preparing to tee off on the 11th hole during Thursday’s practice round.
In a humorous live segment, Gadon quietly approached Allen, who was waiting to tee off, and got his attention.
When Allen turned around, Gadon informed him that they were live on the air in Sacramento. Allen, ever the entertainer, confirmed they were indeed live before looking directly into the camera and remaining silent for approximately three seconds. His unexpected pause and subsequent laughter caused Gadon and everyone back in the studio to burst into laughter as well.
This lighthearted moment showcased Allen’s playful personality and natural comedic timing. It’s little wonder that Keon Coleman and many others believe in Allen’s charisma both on and off the field. During the tournament, Allen and his team were reportedly 10-under through 10 holes, all while jokingly claiming to be enjoying a High Noon hard seltzer at each hole.
While this was likely an exaggeration, it highlighted Allen’s ability to blend humor with competition.

Allen’s comedic antics have often drawn comparisons to actor Chris Pratt.
Not only do they share a striking resemblance, but Allen’s quick wit and charm make it easy to imagine him stepping into Pratt’s roles in a “Parks & Recreation” reunion or blockbuster films.
This similarity was humorously exploited during the Buffalo Bills’ schedule reveal, which played on Allen’s comedic chops.
Many fans and commentators have playfully suggested that Allen might be wasting his time on the football field when he could be starring in comic book adaptations and dinosaur movies. If the Bills were to win the Super Bowl this season, there’s a good chance Allen could start receiving offers from Hollywood, tapping into his undeniable screen presence.
For now, Allen continues to delight fans with his performances both in the NFL and at events like the American Century Championship. His ability to seamlessly blend athletic prowess with humor makes him a standout figure in sports and entertainment.
