In a thrilling NFL matchup on Sunday, quarterback Jalen Hurts secured an overtime touchdown, propelling the Philadelphia Eagles to a 37-34 victory over the Buffalo Bills and elevating their season record to an impressive 10-1.
Despite trailing at halftime, the Eagles, seeking redemption after losing the Super Bowl to Kansas City last season, staged a remarkable comeback, marking their fifth consecutive win.
Rachel Bush, the wife of Bills safety Jordan Poyer, voiced her discontent with the officiating during Sunday’s game, particularly highlighting a disputed touchdown in a series of messages on social media. In an Instagram Story, Bush expressed frustration, stating, “I haven’t said a word about the refs all year, but that loss of a TD is on them. This game will 100% be on them if it comes down to that.”
The loss was a significant setback for the Bills, who held a 17-7 lead at halftime and were in front with seconds remaining. Buffalo’s record now stands at 6-6, making their path to the playoffs a challenging one.
The Eagles’ comeback gained momentum when they were 21-14 behind early in the fourth quarter. DeVonta Smith scored on a 15-yard pass from Hurts, followed by Olamide Zaccheaus securing a 29-yard touchdown pass from Hurts despite facing double coverage.

In response, Bills quarterback Josh Allen connected with Gabe Davis on a seven-yard pass, giving Buffalo a 31-28 lead with less than two minutes remaining. Despite facing two five-yard penalties on their final drive, the Eagles managed to force overtime, with kicker Jake Elliott converting a 59-yard attempt in heavy rain.
Tyler Bass made a 40-yard field goal for the Bills, but Hurts sealed the victory with a walk-off touchdown, concluding a nine-play, 75-yard drive.
While acknowledging that referees may make imperfect calls, it’s important not to solely blame them; the outcome ultimately rests on the team’s performance.
