The Green Bay Packers and quarterback Jordan Love have yet to finalize a contract extension as the 2024 season approaches, but Love may have subtly hinted at what fans can expect.
During Packers training camp this week, Love was approached by Fox6 News’ Lily Zhao regarding the ongoing contract talks.
While he wasn’t permitted to provide an answer—someone on his team quickly dismissed the question—Love’s reaction spoke volumes.
Without uttering a word, Love cracked a wide smile and even chuckled a bit, which suggested optimism about the negotiations. A man in the background added a cryptic “news to come,” further fueling speculation.

If a new deal isn’t reached, Love will become an unrestricted free agent in 2025.
Given the Packers’ playoff run to the divisional round last season, losing their young quarterback is something they likely wish to avoid. However, only time will reveal the outcome.
Love took over as the Packers’ starter last season after the team traded Aaron Rodgers to the New York Giants. In his inaugural year as the starting quarterback, Love completed 64.2% of his passes, amassing 4,159 yards and throwing 32 touchdowns to 11 interceptions over 17 games.
His impressive performance has undoubtedly increased his value, making the contract talks even more critical for the Packers’ future.
