Jordan Love is currently not participating in Green Bay Packers training camp as he awaits the resolution of a contract extension stalemate with the team.
Both parties are keen to reach an agreement that would secure Love as the franchise’s long-term quarterback and likely position him among the highest-paid players in the NFL.
According to Jori Epstein of Yahoo! Sports, the Packers have a specific target to meet if they wish to finalize the contract and get Love back on the practice field quickly.
To expedite the process, the Packers will likely need to offer a deal comparable to the one Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence received.
Lawrence’s five-year extension, worth $275 million, includes a $55 million annual average, tying Joe Burrow’s league-high extension from the Cincinnati Bengals. Burrow’s $219 million in guarantees and $146 million in full guarantees exceed Lawrence’s $200 million and $142 million, respectively, according to overthecap.com.

Thus, Lawrence’s contract sets the minimum benchmark, with Burrow’s deal representing the upper limit.
Jordan Love, a product of Utah State, is entering his fourth season in the league after being selected in the first round of the 2020 draft.
He didn’t play in a game until 2021 and didn’t become a regular starter until last season. Despite a rocky start, Love eventually found his rhythm and inspired enough confidence for the Packers to consider him their quarterback of the future.
Last season, Love threw for over 4,000 yards, 32 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions, leading the Packers to a 9-8 record and a playoff appearance, including a 48-32 victory over the Dallas Cowboys in the wild-card round.
As negotiations continue, it’s clear that securing Love’s presence on the practice field and ensuring his commitment to the team are high priorities for the Packers.
Fans and analysts alike are watching closely, eager to see how this situation unfolds and whether the Packers can lock in their quarterback for the foreseeable future.
