Jonathan Taylor, running back for the Indianapolis Colts, denies reports of a back injury he allegedly suffered during the offseason while away from the team.
These reports followed Stephen Holder’s report for ESPN that Taylor did not pass his pre-training camp physical.
Holder also mentioned that the possibility of moving Taylor from the physically unable to perform list to the non-football injury list is being considered by the Colts.
The back injury was supposedly discovered when Taylor reported for camp on Tuesday.
Taylor took to Twitter to refute the report:
1.) Never had a back pain.
2.) Never reported back pain.
Not sure who “sources” are, but find new ones ?

Another report by Mike Chappell of FOX59 stated that Taylor sustained the back injury while working out independently in Arizona.
If Taylor is placed on the non-football injury list, the Colts can withhold his salary once the season starts.
According to Over the Cap, Taylor has a base salary of $4.3 million in 2023. On Saturday, the 24-year-old reportedly requested a trade after meeting with owner Jim Irsay on his private bus during practice.
Taylor is seeking a new contract as he becomes a free agent after the 2023 season. Irsay stated that the team has no plans to trade Taylor, and there are currently no immediate plans to extend his contract.
Taylor has been with the Colts since being selected in the second round of the 2020 draft and has accumulated 3,841 rushing yards and 33 touchdowns in 43 career games, making him the rushing leader of the 2021 season.
