Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is making a significant impact by giving back to three communities that hold special meaning for him.
On Wednesday morning, ESPN’s Adam Schefter announced via Twitter that Burrow has teamed up with Kodiak Cakes to donate 29,997 meals to school programs in Athens, Ohio; Cincinnati, Ohio; and Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Each of these communities represents a pivotal chapter in Burrow’s life: Athens is where he played high school football, Cincinnati is his current home, and Baton Rouge is where he rose to stardom at LSU.
The unique number of 29,997 meals was chosen because each program is receiving 9,999 meals, a nod to Burrow’s jersey number, 9.
Fans and supporters quickly praised Burrow for his generous contribution.
“Common Burrow W,” one person tweeted.
“Love the work he does in Ohio. Ohio legend and a big reason he fit in so well with the Bengals. He takes pride in it,” added a Bengals fan.
“My QB is in the headlines for helping the hungry. Yours is for groping women… They are not the same,” another fan commented, highlighting Burrow’s positive influence.
“Well this is absolutely wonderful,” a fourth person said.
“That’s MY Quarterback!! #Bengals #RuleTheJungle,” a fifth fan exclaimed.

Heading into his fifth NFL season, the 27-year-old Burrow has a well-established history of charitable work.
In 2022, he founded the Joe Burrow Foundation, which aims to provide resources and support to the underprivileged and underserved in Ohio and Louisiana. Additionally, Burrow runs the Joe Burrow Hunger Relief Fund, dedicated to alleviating food insecurity in Athens County, Ohio.
Burrow’s latest initiative with Kodiak Cakes not only reflects his commitment to giving back but also underscores his deep connection to the communities that shaped him. As he continues to excel on the field, his efforts off the field are making a lasting difference.
