ESPN commentators Joe Buck and Troy Aikman seemed less than enthused during Monday’s clash between the Chicago Bears and the Minnesota Vikings.
In a relatively uneventful “Monday Night Football” matchup at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the Bears narrowly defeated the Vikings 12-10, with only one touchdown scored by both teams combined. Even a play that seemed poised for a pick-six turned into a disappointment for Bears quarterback Justin Fields and viewers alike.

As the Vikings attempted a last-ditch effort with 5 seconds remaining, executing several laterals from their own 34 while trailing by two points, Buck and Aikman appeared visibly relieved when the play was thwarted.
“And with the Benny Hill music playing in the background, this game is over,” remarked Buck.
“Thankfully,” concurred Aikman.
Viewers, including fans on X, picked up on the announcers’ subtle criticism of the lackluster MNF matchup. One fan even incorporated the Benny Hill music that Buck had jokingly mentioned.
The Bears-Vikings game is unlikely to be remembered as an all-time classic. Perhaps the most notable moment of the game occurred when the Bears were penalized for a helmet malfunction, leaving spectators puzzled.
