Will Aaron Rodgers be the butt of the joke during the Oscars?
The 2024 Academy Awards are on the horizon, and Jimmy Kimmel, returning as host, is giving a sneak peek into what viewers can expect from his opening monologue.
When asked by CNN if he plans to mention New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who previously accused Kimmel of connections to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, Kimmel humorously responded, “Uh, I don’t know who that is.”
In January, Kimmel refuted Rodgers’ claims on social media and demanded an apology from the NFL star. As the big night approaches, Kimmel told CNN that it’s unlikely he’ll joke about Rodgers during the ceremony.

Furthermore, Kimmel stated that he will “probably not” invite Rodgers onto Jimmy Kimmel Live! anytime soon. “The next step is for Aaron Rodgers to reach out to me — not the other way around,” he asserted. “So, I don’t see that happening.”
Kimmel previously hinted at legal action when Rodgers initially made the allegations. He emphasized his lack of association with Epstein and urged Rodgers to verify facts before making such accusations.
As he prepares for his fourth Oscars hosting gig, Kimmel is gearing up for a star-studded event. This year, the film Oppenheimer leads with 13 nominations, including Best Picture alongside other notable contenders like American Fiction, Anatomy of a Fall, and Barbie.
Don’t miss the 96th annual Academy Awards airing live Sunday at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT on ABC.
