Jimmy Butler, the six-time NBA All-Star known for his prowess on the basketball court, is venturing into the world of country music.
Despite his basketball fame, Butler’s love for country music has been quietly brewing, evolving from a locker room prank to a genuine passion for the genre. Among his favorite artists is Luke Combs, whose music resonates deeply with Butler.
In recent years, Butler’s affinity for country music has led him to connect with some of the biggest names in the industry. He even made a cameo appearance in a Luke Bryan music video back in 2017.

Now, as he enters his fifth year with the Miami Heat, Butler is embarking on a unique project. Dubbed the “D.J. Khaled of country music,” Butler has been actively involved in writing and producing over 60 songs for an upcoming album. However, unlike Khaled, Butler’s contributions remain behind the scenes, as he does not lend his vocals to any of the tracks.
While details about the album are still scarce, Butler has teased his collaboration with Breland, a renowned songwriter and vocalist in Nashville. A teaser of one of their songs hints at a catchy melody reminiscent of classics like ‘Atlantic City’ by The Band and ‘Die a Happy Man’ by Thomas Rhett.
With Butler’s extensive connections in the country music industry and the talent of collaborators like Breland, anticipation is high for what promises to be an exciting musical venture for the NBA star-turned-country music enthusiast.
