Jimmy Butler in the face!
During the NBA offseason, Jimmy Butler has been on quite the adventure, traveling to different parts of the world.
His first destination was London, where he attended a Wimbledon match and was also rumored to have had a romantic rendezvous with Shakira. Currently, Butler is in China, embarking on an “unexpected tour” and documenting his experiences on Instagram.
It remains uncertain whether this tour was independently organized or sanctioned by the NBA, who has been keen on expanding its popularity in China.
In one of his Instagram posts, Butler revealed that he was hilariously hit in the face with a shoe while playing basketball with fans. Despite the incident, Butler found it amusing and considered it the highlight of his trip so far.
The shoe-throwing incident occurred in Taiyuan, a city in Eastern Central China, but Butler seemed unfazed and uninjured.

While it is unknown how much longer Butler will remain in China, trade talks regarding Damian Lillard from the Miami Heat to the Portland Trail Blazers have reportedly hit a stall.
Meanwhile, in a historical context, shoe-throwing incidents have occasionally made headlines, with notable examples involving Roman Emperor Constantinus II in 359 AD and journalist Muntadhar al-Zaidi throwing shoes at former US President George W. Bush in 2008.
In the sports world, Florida fans were left to rue a shoe-throwing celebration that resulted in their team’s loss in a 2020 game against LSU.
