Jim Irsay throwing some shade.
In an unusual expression of grief over Jim Brown’s passing, Jim Irsay pronounced him as the greatest player in NFL history, but omitted Peyton Manning from his list of top five players. Instead, Irsay included John Elway, a quarterback who famously refused to play for the Colts and won two Super Bowls with the Denver Broncos.
On my list of Top 5 Greatest NFL Players of All Time,in our 103 year History… I have Top 5 as 1)Jim Brown 2)Tom Brady 3)John Elway 4)Deacon Jones 5)Reggie White.?

Irsay later clarified that Manning was in his top 10, but credited Elway’s success with weaker surrounding talent for much of his career.
No doubt…Peyton,Barry Sanders and Jerry Rice in Top 10… it’s just that Elway didn’t have great offensive players around him til the end, when he won 2 in a row and his feet we’re remarkable, from baseball talents…?

Manning, who achieved numerous accolades and records throughout his 18-year career, retired in 2016 and has since been calling games alongside his brother Eli on the beloved ManningCast.
Irsay is a bitter dude.
