Remember you can never have enough money.
As spring approaches, it’s not just everyday folks who are gearing up for garage sale season. Take former Michigan Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh, for instance.
Just a couple of months after making the big decision to leave Michigan and take on the role of head coach for the Los Angeles Chargers, Harbaugh is getting down to some spring cleaning. With the Harbaugh family getting ready to bid adieu to Michigan, they’ve decided to lighten their load by hosting a garage sale to part ways with some of their old stuff.
Social media went abuzz with a snapshot of the garage sale, swiftly turning it into a viral sensation. From vintage clothes to quirky snow globes to even a sewing machine, a variety of items were up for grabs this past weekend. But notably absent from the sale? Harbaugh’s trademark khakis – looks like those are staying put.

This garage sale marks the final chapter for the Harbaugh clan in Michigan as they prepare to embark on a new chapter in Los Angeles. When Harbaugh’s appointment was first announced, he expressed his eagerness for the opportunity ahead.
“The only job you start at the top is digging a hole, so we know we’ve got to earn our way,” he said. “Be better today than yesterday. Be better tomorrow than today. My priorities are faith, family and football, and we are going to attack each with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind. This organization is putting in the work — investing capital, building infrastructure and doing everything within its power to win. Great effort equals great results, and we’re just getting started.”
As for how Harbaugh will fare in Los Angeles? Only time will tell.
