Jim Harbaugh is a man of his word.
Harbaugh wasn’t joking when he said he was going to live a couple months in an RV this offseason, and he wasn’t joking about getting a tattoo if Michigan won the National Championship last January.
Michigan did in fact win and Harbaugh got an “M” with “15-0” underneath inked on his right arm as he made a return visit to Ann Arbor to for the National Championship ring ceremony.

Now coach of the Los Angeles Chargers, we will see if Harbaugh makes any other tattoo-related promises to help them get their first Super Bowl title in franchise history.
Michigan defeated Washington 34-13 in the College Football Playoff Championship Game.
Afterwards, Harbaugh told reporters he promised his players he would get a tattoo to commemorate the season.
“I have no ink on my body. No tattoos anywhere, but I did say that to our players. I said if we go 15-0, I’m getting a tattoo. It’s 15-0. I’m going to put it on my shoulder, I don’t know if it’s my left or right yet. I’m a right-handed quarterback. I’ll probably get it on my right. And then an M too, an M that’s maize and blue M. Also that signifies a thousand in Roman numerals.”
The inclusion of the Roman numeral for 1,000 in the tattoo holds added significance beyond its numerical value.
Michigan achieved a historic milestone in college football by becoming the first program to secure 1,000 wins.
This feat was accomplished with a 31-24 victory over Maryland on November 18th.
However, it’s notable that during this milestone game, head coach Jim Harbaugh was absent from the sidelines.
He was serving a suspension imposed by the Big Ten due to his alleged involvement in a sign-stealing scandal concerning former staff member Connor Stalions.
Despite Harbaugh’s absence, Michigan’s achievement of 1,000 wins marked a significant moment in the team’s history.
