After years of anticipation, the much-awaited move for football fans unfolded on Wednesday night as veteran Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh returned to the NFL.
Harbaugh had been considering NFL teams for the past three offseasons, and after coming close to joining the Minnesota Vikings in 2022 and the Denver Broncos in 2023, he ultimately chose the Los Angeles Chargers as the team to bring him back to the league.
Interestingly, in the upcoming season, he will find himself facing his older brother, John, and the Baltimore Ravens. John, with a light-hearted laugh, expressed his thoughts, saying, “My thoughts are…we play them next year.”
Despite the playful tease, John emphasized his immense pride in Jim and eagerly anticipated his accomplishments in this second stint in the league. “So we’re looking forward to all of it,” John added. “I’m just very happy for him. Proud of him. Excited for him and his family.”

Jim’s decision to return to the NFL was met with enthusiasm by his family, as evidenced by his kids, starting with Addy and Katie, already having their bags packed and ready to go upon hearing the news. John concluded by praising the Chargers for securing a truly exceptional coach.
In the meantime, Jim will be cheering for his brother in the AFC title game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
