Former Michigan Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh continues to take aim at Ohio State head coach Ryan Day, even after departing Michigan for the head coaching position with the Los Angeles Chargers this offseason.
During his media session at the NFL owners meetings in Florida on Monday morning, Harbaugh didn’t shy away from referencing his previous comment regarding Day. Harbaugh alluded to his earlier remark about being “born on third base,” stating, “Everybody in that building, no one was born on third base. Everyone had to work their way to first,” when discussing the Chargers organization.
Harbaugh’s comment refers to his previous assertion that Day was akin to someone who “was born on third base and thought he hit a triple.” This remark was Harbaugh’s way of implying that it was Urban Meyer, not Ryan Day, who deserved credit for the success of the Ohio State Buckeyes program.

Under Harbaugh’s leadership, Michigan managed to defeat Ohio State in three consecutive seasons, culminating in an undefeated 2023 season where the Wolverines clinched the national championship.
As Day and the Buckeyes aim to bounce back in the 2024 season, they’re anticipated to start the regular season ranked within the top three, potentially even securing the top spot.
