The move to the NFL comes after Harbaugh’s successful tenure at Michigan, where he achieved an 89-25 record. Michigan secured the national title by defeating Alabama in the Rose Bowl and then Washington.
University of Michigan president Santa Ono expressed sadness at Harbaugh’s departure but thanked him for turning the program around and delivering a national championship. Harbaugh is expected to address the Michigan players on Friday.
