The New York Jets are reportedly eyeing an offensive playmaker to bolster their roster this offseason, with a particular focus on adding a proven wide receiver. According to insights from SNY insider Connor Hughes, the Jets have set their sights on Calvin Ridley as a top target in free agency.
“Spoke with @Connor_J_Hughes in Indy about the #Jets free agent plans, and he mentioned the team will be interested in the top free agent WR’s and the most likely target is Calvin Ridley,” uSTADIUM shared on X. “They will be aggressive in their pursuit, but they know the price will be driven up due to the competition.”
While acquiring Davante Adams via trade appears unlikely for the Jets, pursuing a player of Ridley’s caliber seems to align with their strategy.

Ridley, who sat out the entire 2022 season due to suspension, showcased his talent with 76 receptions for 1,016 yards and eight touchdowns in his last season with the Jacksonville Jaguars. His addition to the Jets’ lineup could complement emerging talent like Garrett Wilson, potentially creating a formidable offensive threat.
However, the success of this plan hinges on the availability of star quarterback Aaron Rodgers, whose presence on the field for all 17 games this fall is crucial for the Jets’ aspirations.
With over $22 million in cap space heading into free agency, the Jets are positioned to make a significant move to strengthen their offensive arsenal.
