Despite suffering an Achilles injury in September, Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been activated off injured reserve this Wednesday.
While Rodgers has been cleared to practice with the team until early January, he won’t return to the starting lineup until the 2024 season.

Jets head coach Saleh explained the decision to activate Rodgers, stating, “We’re still going to keep him on the active. We have the roster flexibility with all the different things that have happened over the past couple of weeks. It’s all part of his rehab. Just having him on the field is a plus for everybody, for him and his teammates.”
Rodgers himself acknowledged on “The Pat McAfee Show” this Tuesday that he is not yet at full strength.
“If I was 100 percent today, I’d be definitely pushing to play,” Rodgers said. “But the fact is, I’m not.”
While Rodgers’ performance post-surgery remains uncertain, Saleh anticipates the four-time MVP playing for the Jets until the “wheels fall off.”
The reasoning behind the Jets’ decision to activate Rodgers off injured reserve seems to be influenced by his expressed desire to be removed from IR, although it raises questions considering his acknowledgment of not being at full strength.
