Aaron Rodgers seems to be exerting influence in New York.
The Jets brought Aaron Rodgers off injured reserve this week, even though he is not slated to participate in any remaining games. Jets head coach Robert Saleh clarified that Rodgers was activated solely for practice with the team.

“We’re still going to keep him on the active,” Saleh explained. “We have the roster flexibility with all the different things that have happened over the past couple of weeks. It’s all part of his rehab. Just having him on the field is a plus for everybody, for him and his teammates.”
To accommodate Rodgers on the 53-man roster, the Jets released fullback Nick Bawden, to which his wife took to Instagram to clarify the situation with her husband. They later reinstated him to the practice squad, resulting in the release of defensive back Kalon Barnes.
Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk questioned the Jets’ decision, stating, “Jets QB Aaron Rodgers is back on the 53-man roster, even though he won’t be playing again this season. That move ultimately resulted in practice-squad DB Kalon Barnes getting released on Friday.”
Barnes, a former seventh-round pick from Baylor, has experienced various team changes in the NFL over the past year. Hopefully, he finds stability in the near future. Regarding the Jets, the power dynamics in the organization seem quite apparent.
