Jerry Jones has made some memorable statements over the years, and one of the most amusing ones occurred on July 29, 2012, during an NFL training camp opening press conference in Oxnard, Calif. While discussing the Cowboys’ past success and the desire to return to winning ways, Jones delivered a quote that left everyone surprised:
I’ve been here when it was glory hole days and I’ve been here when it wasn’t. Having said that, I want me some glory hole.
This statement garnered widespread attention due to its humorous nature, even though “glory hole” has a different meaning in most contexts. It typically refers to a hole made in a partition or wall, where a person can engage in anonymous sexual activity. Dallas’ PR department tried to clarify that Jones was referring to a term used in the oil and gas industry, given his background in that field.

Fast forward 11 years, and it seems that Jones either forgot about the incident or decided to double down on his choice of words. During a recent interview with 105.3 The Fan, he discussed the experience of winning a Super Bowl, stating:
“It’s the absolute glory hole.”
Jerry Jones’ repeated use of this term in public statements has raised eyebrows, and it might be a good idea for him to reconsider its usage in the future unless he means it in the intended context.
