Jayson Tatum has been actively working hard this offseason, both on and off the court.
One reporter recently revealed that Tatum has made an effort to recruit Damian Lillard to join the Boston Celtics.
NBA reporter Marc Spears shared this information while being a guest on Bill Oram’s “Sports by Northwest” podcast, which was published on Wednesday. Spears discussed Lillard’s trade request and explained why the Miami Heat is the team Lillard is most focused on.
Despite this, Tatum’s attempt to recruit Lillard has been unsuccessful as the Portland star remains fixated on the Heat.
Spears mentioned that Tatum has reached out to Lillard but to no avail.
“I know Jayson Tatum’s called him, tried to get in his ear. But his focus is definitely on Miami,” Spears said.
Despite Lillard’s trade request, no deal has been made so far, and Lillard’s persistent approach has even attracted a warning from the NBA.
Given this situation, perhaps Tatum should continue his recruitment efforts and not accept Lillard’s refusal just yet.
