During the highly anticipated clash between the Boston Celtics and the Philadelphia 76ers at TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts, Celtics forward Jayson Tatum found himself ejected from the game on Friday night.

With the Celtics holding a narrow 95-94 lead and less than 10 seconds left in the third quarter, Tatum, advancing the ball past halfcourt, faced a swift double-team from Sixers wings De’Anthony Melton and Robert Covington. Inadvertently, Tatum struck Covington in the face with his forearm, resulting in an offensive foul being called against the Celtics All-Star.
Expressing his frustration towards the officials and maintaining a defiant stare as the play underwent review for a potential flagrant foul, Tatum incurred his second technical foul of the game, leading to his ejection.
Tatum concluded the game with 21 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists. The Celtics-76ers rivalry likely intensified the tensions, evident in a total of four technical fouls called through three quarters, with two of them attributed to Tatum.
Despite the absence of Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey, the remaining Sixers players delivered a competitive performance on the Celtics’ home court.
