Jay Cutler and Samantha Robertson made their first public appearance since the former NFL star’s DUI arrest last month, stepping out together at the highly anticipated Season 5B premiere of “Yellowstone” in New York City on Thursday night.
The couple, who have been dating for over a year, looked stylish as they posed for photos on the red carpet. Cutler, 41, sported a sharp gray blazer paired with dark jeans and a black button-up shirt, which he kept slightly unbuttoned for a casual touch.
Robertson, 33, complemented her boyfriend’s look with a chic long-sleeve black dress featuring a high slit, showing off a bit of leg and adding a glamorous edge to her ensemble.
The pair appeared comfortable in the spotlight, cozying up for photos and mingling with other attendees. They were seen spending time with Bethenny Frankel and her new boyfriend, Tom Villante, during the swanky affair. Despite the recent headlines surrounding Cutler’s arrest, the couple seemed to be enjoying themselves at the event.
While Robertson was spotted holding a glass of wine at the premiere, Cutler appeared to abstain from drinking at the event. However, according to Us Weekly, Cutler did have a glass of wine earlier in the evening while dining at the renowned Le Bernardin restaurant before heading to the premiere.
Cutler’s appearance at the premiere comes just weeks after his arrest in Williamson County, Tennessee, where he was taken into custody for driving under the influence and possession of firearms. The former Chicago Bears quarterback also faced charges for failure to exercise due care and a violation of implied consent law. He was booked at the Williamson County Jail in Franklin, Tennessee, and released after posting a $5,000 bond.
According to the Franklin Police Department, Cutler was involved in a traffic incident in which he allegedly rear-ended another vehicle and attempted to leave the scene before officers arrived. The police reported that Cutler offered the other driver $2,000 to avoid involving the authorities, but the other driver declined and called the police.

When officers arrived, they noted that Cutler appeared to be under the influence, describing him as “slurring his words” and emitting a “strong odor of alcohol.” According to the arresting officer’s report, Cutler was “staggering, swaying, and heavy-footed while walking” and spoke with a “thick-tongued, slurred and mumbled” voice. Despite initially denying any alcohol consumption, Cutler eventually admitted to having “a little bit” to drink.
The arresting officers also discovered two firearms in Cutler’s vehicle, including a loaded pistol. Although Cutler refused to participate in field sobriety tests, police obtained a warrant for a blood sample, which was taken at a local hospital to determine his blood alcohol content.
While Cutler has not publicly commented on his arrest, his ex-wife, Kristin Cavallari, subtly addressed the situation during an episode of her “Let’s Be Honest” podcast. Without going into specifics, Cavallari acknowledged the incident, stating, “I will not be commenting on what happened. I do, of course, wish Jay nothing but the best, and I do hope that he gets the help that he needs, but that’s the only thing I will be saying about it publicly.”
Cutler and Cavallari were married in 2013 but separated in 2020 after seven years of marriage, finalizing their divorce in 2022. The former couple shares three children together: sons Camden, 12, and Jaxon, 10, and daughter Saylor, 8. Despite their split, both have expressed a desire to co-parent their children amicably, and Cavallari’s statement indicates her hope that Cutler can overcome his recent troubles.
The “Yellowstone” premiere provided a rare public outing for Cutler and Robertson amid the legal troubles.
The couple, who began dating in October of last year, has kept a relatively low profile, but their attendance at the event suggests that they are trying to move forward despite the recent controversy. As Cutler continues to navigate his personal challenges, his relationship with Robertson appears to be a source of support.
The “Yellowstone” premiere was a star-studded affair, and the presence of Cutler and Robertson certainly caught the attention of fans and media alike.
The former NFL star seemed to enjoy the evening, despite the ongoing scrutiny, and it remains to be seen how he will address the legal issues moving forward.
