A prominent teammate of Jason Kelce believes that the esteemed football veteran has made up his mind to retire from the game entirely.
Despite Kelce not officially announcing his decision regarding his future in football, speculation has been rife that the long-serving Philadelphia Eagles center will soon hang up his boots. Since being drafted in the sixth round in 2011, Kelce has remained a steadfast presence with the Eagles throughout his entire career.
In an interview with NBC Sports Philadelphia’s John Clark, Eagles offensive tackle Jordan Mailata expressed certainty that Kelce won’t be returning for the 2024 season.
“There’s no shot! You’re telling me, he’s going shirt off at the game, gambling in the casinos, he’s coming back? No way,” Mailata emphatically stated. “He’s having too much fun. I’m going to miss him for sure.”

While reports surfaced last month suggesting Kelce had informed his teammates of his intention to retire, as of mid-February, the decorated Pro Bowler has yet to make a definitive announcement.
Despite approaching his 37th birthday in October, Kelce has exhibited no signs of slowing down. His presumed retirement would undoubtedly leave a significant void in the Eagles’ offensive line.
According to Pro Football Focus, Kelce allowed just one sack on 1,108 offensive snaps while maintaining an impressive grade of 80.8 for the year. This stellar performance contributed to quarterback Jalen Hurts being sacked a mere 36 times throughout the season, underscoring Kelce’s pivotal role in the o-line’s success.
With a Super Bowl 52 victory under his belt with the Eagles in 2017, Kelce has achieved all there is to in the game and is widely expected to be a first-ballot Hall of Famer upon his eligibility.
