Former Philadelphia Eagles teammate Beau Allen humorously reminisced about his involvement in Jason Kelce’s first date with now-wife Kylie Kelce.
Kelce and Kylie, who exchanged vows in 2018, initially connected on the dating app Tinder in 2015. However, Kelce’s debut left much to be desired, as he famously fell asleep at the bar and had to be escorted home by Allen.
Allen, a former Super Bowl champion, shared his perspective on Kelce’s New Heights podcast, comparing the experience to climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.
“I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again,” Allen began. “It was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. That was harder than climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.”
Allen, who had climbed the peak with Kelce and other Eagles teammates for charity in 2019, elaborated on the humorous ordeal. He revealed that Kelce had been discussing Kylie for weeks leading up to their meeting, seeking advice on making a good first impression.
During a holiday party in Philly, Kelce’s plan to meet Kylie took an unexpected turn when he dozed off at the bar. Kelce, chiming in, explained his unusual reaction, attributing it to his body’s sudden aversion to alcohol.
Allen recounted the struggle of carrying Kelce home, with Kelce half-heartedly resisting. Despite Kelce’s attempts to resist, Allen managed to get him home safely, albeit with some comic mishaps along the way.

Reflecting on the incident, Kelce wondered if Kylie was surprised to agree to a second date with him. Allen admitted to being slightly surprised but praised Kelce as a great guy.
‘I know I was sleeping but I remember it,’ Kelce added. ‘I remember fighting you and laughing my a** off. Were you shocked when Kylie agreed to go on a second date with me?’
‘I was slightly surprised,’ Allen admitted. ‘But you’re a great guy.’
In a recent light-hearted gesture, Kelce wore a sweatshirt adorned with the Tinder logo, poking fun at how he and Kylie met. Kylie, amused by the gesture, shared a photo of Kelce on her Instagram story with playful captions expressing her incredulity and nostalgia about their unconventional beginnings.
