Jason Kelce has a huge decision to make.
Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce has indicated that a decision regarding his retirement from the NFL will be announced in the coming weeks.
Kelce, who enjoyed a memorable time in Las Vegas last week followed by attending the Super Bowl, where he watched his brother, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, secure another championship ring, has remained tight-lipped about his future plans.
While there were reports suggesting that he informed his teammates that the 2023 season would be his last in the NFL following the Eagles’ playoff exit in the Wild Card Round, Kelce has yet to make an official announcement.
In a recent interview on ‘The Big Podcast with Shaq,’ Kelce shared, “Still figuring it out… If I still want to play, I’m going to play.” He explained that the emotional toll of the season and the recent end to the season necessitated some time for reflection. Kelce expressed his intention to take a break, rest, and then make a decision.

“Still figuring it out,” he told Shaquille O’Neal on ‘The Big Podcast with Shaq’ on Monday. “I think if I still want to play, I’m going to play. I think right now we’re not far enough away from the last game. It’s emotional, it’s a long season, the end of the season quite frankly, awful. So I’m just going to take some time, rest, recoup and then figure it out.
“I think I’ll have an answer in the next couple weeks.”
He hinted at considering opportunities outside of playing, as reports emerged of his meetings with major television networks during his time in Las Vegas, indicating a potential move into football media. However, Kelce’s response to a fan’s plea for him not to retire, captured on camera during the Pro Bowl in Orlando, Florida, suggested he is also contemplating continuing his playing career.
Regardless of Jason Kelce’s decision, one thing is certain: he’ll continue to entertain fans throughout the year.
