November 18 poses a unique challenge for Jason Kelce, the former longtime Philadelphia Eagles center and new ESPN analyst.
As part of his role on ESPN’s Monday Night Football pregame show, Monday Night Countdown, during the 2024 season, Kelce will have to navigate his 13-year rivalry with the Dallas Cowboys.
This comes into play particularly as he heads to AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, for a Week 11 primetime matchup between the Houston Texans and the Cowboys.
Despite the rivalry, Kelce expressed his intention to remain unbiased during his analysis, a topic he discussed with his brother Travis on their New Heights podcast. “I have no bias,” Kelce insisted. “I just don’t like them. But I’m going to give them their props. There’s a rivalry, but the reality is, even though I hate the Cowboys’ fanbase…”
He recounted an amusing interaction at a charity golf event, highlighting his perplexity towards non-local Cowboys fans, especially those from Philadelphia. “Listen, I can set aside my differences as a player and the competition…” Kelce added, acknowledging his professional commitment to impartiality.

While Kelce is prepared to objectively cover the Cowboys for ESPN, his personal feelings about the team and its fans remain strong. His return to Lincoln Financial Field for a Week 2 Monday night game between the Eagles and the Atlanta Falcons will likely test his impartiality even more.
Kelce retired in March after a distinguished 13-season career with the Eagles, highlighted by a Super Bowl win in 2018 and seven Pro Bowl selections.
He joined ESPN earlier in May, as announced by the network.
