Travis Kelce, the famous Kansas City Chiefs tight end, clinched his third Super Bowl victory in five years when his team defeated the San Francisco 49ers, 25-22, in a nail-biting overtime game in Las Vegas.
Although Kelce played exceptionally well throughout the game, it was his heated sideline moment with Andy Reid that has been making headlines.
Kelce and his brother, Jason Kelce, addressed the incident in their latest podcast, New Heights. Travis Kelce acknowledged the attention his outburst has received, stating, “People are all over this and I mean, I get it.” Jason Kelce, however, reprimanded his younger brother, stating, “You crossed the line. I think we can both agree on that.”
Travis Kelce agreed and admitted that he “can’t get that fired up to the point where I’m bumping coach and it’s getting him off balance and stuff.”
Jason Kelce also commented on the yelling, saying, “Let’s be honest, the yelling in his face, too, is over the top. I think there are better ways to handle this, retrospectively.”
Travis Kelce then expressed his love for Coach Reid, saying, “I’m a passionate guy. I love Coach Reid, and Coach Reid knows how much I love to play for him and how much I love to be a product of his coaching career. I’m not playing for anybody else but Big Red. If he calls it quits this year, I’m out there with him, man.”
If you’re interested in hearing the Kelce brothers’ conversation, it begins around the 27-minute mark of their podcast.
